The financial services industry wasn’t always a desired career choice for Clift Roach II; he had other plans from the start of college. However, exposure to what became his favorite class in college changed his career trajectory.

When he entered his first year at Saginaw Valley State University, he began pursuing his interest in marketing. As a student, Clift was an Executive Board member for the Organization of Black Unity, which promoted academic success, involvement and community outreach among all students at Saginaw Valley University. There he served as a Marketing Coordinator, where he focused on event planning, brand development, and promotion.

In 2017, Clift graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing. Although his main desire in school was marketing, Clift’s favorite class was Economics, which sparked his initial interest in learning more about the financial services industry.

In Economics, he learned the importance of supply and demand and how money flows through our economic system. During this time, he realized he was passionate about utilizing financial strategies.

In 2019, Clift entered the financial services industry. With over three years of experience, he is currently Life and Health licensed in 13 states. He has established a wide variety of specialties in the industry, such as planning for life and disability insurance.

One of Clift’s most significant accomplishments was placing over 100 million dollars in life insurance death benefits in his first 24 months in the industry, an astounding achievement. He continues to work towards reaching and surpassing this goal as he grows in this career.

Clift’s greatest desire is to work to change the way individuals look at wealth in his community. He would like to be a professional resource for all things business and finance related amongst those around him. His dream is to change the trajectory of his own family’s generational wealth so that he can be a virtuous provider for his family and their families thereafter.

Clift grew up on the west side of Detroit with his parents and older sister. Observing his parents at a young age, he knew what hard work looked like, which encouraged Clift to become a workhorse, just like his parents. He always understood the importance of saving money and planning for the future. He wishes to teach his children financial development when he starts his own family.

Clift works with clients of all ages, financial knowledge, and backgrounds, though many of his clients are young families and newlyweds. He enjoys planning for those who want generational wealth for their families, just like he does. Clift appreciates learning more about clients with similar values and motives, knowing he can create a unique financial proposal for anyone he encounters.

In his free time, Clift mentors teenagers, preparing them for professional development and shaping student behaviors to develop into well-rounded individuals. Clift isn’t a part of a specific mentoring program; he partakes in this out of the goodwill of his heart.

When he isn’t working or mentoring, he loves all things live entertainment, whether that be attending a professional sporting event, comedy show, or concert. Clift is also an avid athlete, partaking in basketball, tennis, and track in his leisure with friends and family.
