As the Director of Investments for MassMutual Great Lakes, I work in part with a network of professionals responsible for the training, retention and recruiting of financial professionals. I serve to support these financial professionals through various securities related transactions, from portfolio construction and investment management to operational practices.
In working with clients, my Mission is simply this; “I believe that fair and equitable access to financial knowledge should not just be for the few. I seek to help Educate, Empower and Influence all communities towards financial betterment, with the intention to eliminate the historical wealth gap, therefore, creating generational wealth for all those willing to embrace it.”
As a native of Springfield, Massachusetts, I began my career at the MassMutual home office. I assisted in supervising our Retail Sales Trading Desk and was eventually elevated to Relationship Manager, working with our top 100 financial professionals across the country. Previously, I served at a Wall Street trading firm in New York City as a Proprietary Equity Trader.
I knew from a young age that I would have a career in finance. My passion for this field began to develop as I witnessed my parents manage their budget and work to create a comfortable existence for a household of 5 children. This nurtured a fond appreciation of the power and elasticity of a dollar.
Later in life upon the passing of my parents, I realized that with all the budgeting done, there laid a bucket that was relatively empty, one not accounting for the inevitable, nor one taking steps to create legacy wealth for the family. This being a problem in many communities in this country, I realized that I would accept the task to change that narrative and help people, those in particular who lack the acumen, access, and literacy necessary to make such decisions, and work to create the capacity to positively impact lives today and for generations to come.
I am a proud graduate of an HBCU; Clark Atlanta University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Finance & Business Management. I am licensed to offer Life and Health Insurance as well as hold my FINRA Series 7, 57, and 63 securities licenses.
